I was walking out of Kings Cross station this morning, with First Steps by Elbow playing (a minute of which you can hear in the trailer above, but I recommend the entire track, and Elbow in general), the BBC’s theme for the Olympics, and I looked around and was belatedly struck by what a huge thing this city managed to do.
I’ve been in London nearly four years and often still don’t feel like I belong, but for a couple of seconds this morning I did.
